as friends of Panda put it... the only one you will ever experience... or something along the lines of that.. but i liked it..
so.. Scott.. Brilliant Red Lights.... Panda... Audrye Sessions at bottom of the hill...
my friend and i danced the night away... well.. rocked out/two stepped/did the lil ass shake thing... it was a very.. danceable... show. I think one of my friends broke out in the soulja boy dance at one point.. that was... not exactly... a highlight.. but not the point. very good night.
So I can never get enough of Scott (of Poor Bailey)
... and... I just got a craving for sushi... but that was kinda off topic.. moving on... I spent most of that set talking to Dave Smallen... at one point Dave mentioned how much he liked Mary Lee... and i must agree.. i really do as well.. and.. Scott was playing it... and like.. that could have been the cue to shut up and listen to the song... but i had the urge to talk... so i kept on going... Have you ever noticed how awkward conversations can be at shows?.. maybe its just me and my lack of social skills... but I'm pretty sure others have experienced it as well. first there is the whole you cant hear half of what the other person is saying.. so you just kinda smile and nod.. and then there is the whole your talking to someone... and then some of their friends come over.. so it opens up to a group huddled in a circle talking about god knows what.. and you realize.. hey.. i dont know any of these new people.. and hey... i have no idea what they are talking about... and so you just kinda slink away.. even if u were in mid sentence of saying something to the original person u were talking to... or there is the whole you suck at talking but want to.. and you talk to another person... that.. you know.. not like really well... but decently.. and they are awkward as fuck in conversations too... so it always ends up with you 2 just kinda standing there, nodding your heads.. arms crossed... looking around.. in hopes something.. anything will come to mind to talk about.. or you ca pull someone else into the conversation to save you. And then there is always the awkward.. semi creepy drunk old man... that happens to lean against the wall next to you.. or something.. and he starts talking to you.. just jabbering away... i mean.. that can be kinda cool until they start hitting on you.. but thats only happened to me like.. 3 or 4 times.. or there is the whole you recognise someone and go up to say hi or whatever and they have no fucking clue who you are... okay.. i could go on and on... but... synopsis of that rambling session.. i'm and awkward duck.
dont know why the hell i just used that phrase either.
so anyways... Scott was awesome... didnt see/hear much of Brilliant Red Lights' set.. they've got some good intros though.
so at shows.. i often observe the people.. i don't know... just like the behavior.. how they interact and all that stuff... what can i say? im a creeper. but anyways.. one thing i notice is how when there is a well known artist in the crowd.. whether it be a member of a band playing the show... or a friend... or a fan.. but the key is known musician. people watch who they are talking too... especially girls... even more so if the person they are talking to is female. and then.. even after the musician is gone.. the girls... (because generally that is who i see do it) its really funny i must say.. just kinda watch the people the musician was interacting with... why i find this so comical?... when i was talking to Dave there was this girl who kept looking over.. and at one point she took a picture of him with her phone.. which both Dave and i noticed.. hell.. i admit it... I've done that to a couple artists.. but not the point.. so.. Dave eventually wandered off... but that girl kept muggin me....(muggin: to glare.. or size up.. and stuff along those lines) and.. that i think was the first time thats happened to me... its like yeah bitch i know him... but i was also just standing there thinking... what's the big deal? is there like some holy line only few can cross to know the local musicians?.. but i guess.. i can understand the girls viewpoint.. back in the day when i first started going to shows.. when i was like... 14? i sorta interpreted things that sorta way or whatever..anyways.. i don't think what i was trying to say really came off well.. but what can i say.. my way with words isn't too grand...
Panda's set was... fandiddlytastic. They get better and better.. but I'm not sure if thats really it... sure in the past 2 years there has been vast improvement.. but recently.. i don't think its necessarily better... but maybe tighter?
Its their energy.. its their pizazz... i don't fucking know man... but whatever it is... it works. and that Beatles cover... rocks more every time.
random.. but.. does anyone else get confused on how you are supposed to respond when someone says ..hey whats up. or just wussup.. or any similar variations?... I mean.. its a greeting... or a question.. or both... what does one do!? dun dun dunnnnn
wow... maybe there is a reason why i stopped writing these in the am...
Audrye Sessions was... fantasmic... man.. i really like altering fantastic tonight... well.. i guess not really like.. just like.. since I've only done it twice.. uhm.. ya back on topic...
kinda bummed they didn't play new years day ... but i think Ryan said something bout guitar issues?
okay.. i should sleep or something.. so I'ma cut this off here.. not even goin' to attempt to spell check this and edit all the grammar shit.
check the new interview with Panda.. and then check back in a few days for some follow up questions for them..
