H to the IJK

... or formerly known as Hijack the Disco

went and checked them out a few nights ago at slim's..

hadn't seen the guys in a while... so it was pretty cool..

they've been working for like the last year on their new album The Pen and the Letter... which is being officially released at the Rickshaw on Aug 9th
but it is currently available on itunes..

dont be lame though...go buy the CD at a show..

as for their performance ... they are just really fun guys to see live...

(Dave... i liked the new haircut... i'm not sure if its a recent change.. but.. i haven't seen you in a while.. so its.. uhm.. new to me?)

It seems in a lot of bands these days the focus on the instrumental portion of their... music... has been averted to the lyrical aspect. What's nice about HIJK's songs.. they focus a good amount on the sole instrumental element but not excessively.
It's refreshing.
