So, I've been noticing lately the connections music makes. Like, any given song could put a smile on your face. The other day I put in the matches CD while driving and by the time audio blood came on I felt like I was back at icast or at one of the many other venues I've been to, to see the Matches. I could feel the energy. (i got this far and then got distracted... the rest is a continuation 3 days later) If you've been to a good show, you know what I'm talking about. The live music buzz. ...Or maybe I'm just crazy. I guess this is just an attempt to solidify my point with this blog. Obviously to share my thoughts, but also to inspire, promote, and give a voice to the local scene. Music in general has a special role in our lives. And so if the music in the bay area can be so brilliant... why not attempt to expand its genuine greatness? I think I have completely lost the thought that I begun this entry on. If none of that made sense, its not you its me.
And then there is the power of words…
Completely different topic… sorta:
I have always envied those who could use words so well. If you haven't noticed... my vocabulary... and ability to use the small vocabulary I do have... is rather insignificant. To be able to make a whole paragraph make sense with one word or to have the ability to put ideas down clearly. It’s a talent, and if you have it, be thankful. I blame my lack of this talent on that fact I have never really read that much. That was always because either I couldn’t put the book down until I finished it entirely (that made for some late nights) or I could never stay focused on what I was reading. My mind would trail off and I would inevitably reread the same sentence 5 times, to not be able to remember it 2 sentences later. This lead me to the thought I might have A.D.D. ... but that is highly doubtful. The point of this little ramble?… I guess I'm apologizing to those of you who actually read this blog, that you have to deal with my sad attempt of making sense of seemingly random words.
To prove my point... while writing this post I used dictionary.com/thesaurus.com at least 8 times.
To those kids out there: Not want to be like me? Go read a book!
