You know how there are just certain people that just aren't fun to go to shows with sometimes and other times are great?... Or the people that think they are too cool to show up for the opening bands? Well.. I went to a Suburban Legends show with one of those types last night, and it was their non fun self. Last night's experience has made me decide.... i need to find new people to go to shows with. Any takers?
Verge Concerts is having a battle of the bands. Last nights was hosted at Historic Sweets Ballroom in Oakland. They had Suburban Legends headlining, which was the only reason I went. Doors were at 630 show was at 7. I left my house around 8.. So by the time i got there.. All Heroes (formerly All Heroes Die) was finishing their set. Next was Waiting In Vain and then 5606. The bassist of 5606 did this kick spin thing during their set that i still dont understand how it was humanly possible. At the time it seemed like it defyed the laws of gravity. Suburban Legends was gnarly... as usual... They enver cease to make me smile, but hey! they're a ska band!.... SL closed with Under the Sea, a great cover, and the i went home... nothing really special about the night... and sadly... that is really all i have to say...
until next time,
Paige
